When you want to get your Pride on, you want to do it with other fun-loving members of the tribe.

With that in mind, Airbnb has released what it says is a list of the top cities in the world to experience an unforgettable Pride.

Perhaps not surprisingly, top of the list is the birthplace of Pride itself, New York City. Not only does the Big Apple boast one of the biggest Pride celebrations, it also has a bustling LGBTQ nightlife, a busy dating scene, and well-established marriage equality.

From an initial list of 100 LGBTQ-friendly cities, Airbnb’s data gnomes winnowed the contenders down to 46 based on the criteria of marriage rights, Pride celebrations, nightlife, dating and travel. Points were then awarded in each category to create a ranking and then total points summed to identify the Proudest towns of all.

New York won the crown and topped the nightlife category but London was identified as the best place to successfully find a Tinder date. When it comes to celebrating, São Paulo won with some 3 million participants, and the cities of the Netherlands (Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht) were judged the marriage equality winners, having led the world to legalise same-sex marriage in 2001.

The travel category really only seems to be there for Airbnb to push its own barrow, but here again, London topped the list thanks to Airbnb bookings growth year-on-year during Pride, a high number of Airbnb LGBTQ Experiences and lots of LGBTQ top tips in host-generated guidebooks.
