Not receiving a rose is framed as the ultimate rejection for a contestant on reality TV show The Bachelor NZ but it seems it’s the squalid living conditions that are really the hardest to take.
A contestant on series two of The Bachelor NZ, Ceri McVinnie is touchingly naive in her belief that true love can be forged in the crucible of a reality TV show format but even a committed romantic like Ceri wasn’t able to overlook living conditions even Cinderella would have found sub-standard.
Ceri claims that in their mansion of chastity, she and her love rivals went without food, running water and even a bed of their own to sleep in. It was more like Survivor, Ceri says, and when she finally missed out on her rose, she couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
You can read the whole sad tale on Ceri’s own blog.
